(Alliance News) - Hellenic Dynamics SA on Wednesday said that it has signed a five year memorandum of understanding with Elgo-Dimitra, the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources near Thessaloniki, Greece.
Hellen Dynamics is a London-based medicinal cannabis cultivator and supplier.
The company said that by jointly researching medical cannabis flowers with Elgo-Dimitra, it might be able to seek registration of its specific medical cannabis tetrahydrocannabinol dominant genetics onto the Greek national genetics database.
This in turn could lead to the company gaining intellectual property protection on certain genetics in the future.
"This MoU with Elgo-Dimitra is very exciting as it means the company could gain IP protection on its strains of THC medical cannabis flowers which could be incredibly valuable , especially if efficacy can be shown in patients against specific pain indicators," said Chief Executive Officer Davinder Rai.
Hellenic Dynamics shares were trading 2.6% lower at 0.093 pence each in London on Wednesday around noon.
