LONDON (Alliance News) - Haydale Graphene Industries PLC said Friday it has signed a research and collaboration agreement with Swansea University's research and development centre WCPC.
Under the agreement WCPC will develop and refine commercial ink products supplied by Haydale for the growing market of graphene-based inks and coatings. Under the agreement, the two also will investigate functionalised graphene and other carbon nano-materials for possible functions such as transparent conductive films, barrier coatings, and 3D printing.
"This collaboration is all about taking the next step towards the commercial uptake of our inks by demonstrating that we can successfully functionalise the right material to meet specific manufacturing needs," said Chief Executive Ray Gibbs in a statement.
Graphene is a pure carbon material that is very thin, at one atom thick, but also very strong and able to conduct heat and electricity efficiently.
Shares in Haydale were untraded Friday morning; they were quoted at 125.00 pence on Thursday.
