(Alliance News) - Haydale Graphene Industries PLC announced on Tuesday that it had successfully incorporated graphene nano-platelets into further consumer products.
The Ammanford-based graphene technology company said the graphene nano-platelets were incorporated into cosmetic masks, personal protective equipment masks and in its graphene-coated fabric, THERMiT.
THERMiT was then supplied to South Korean sports apparel brand, Pro-Specs, for use in a new graphene-enhanced jacket, Haydale explained.
The initial production run of 8,000 items, which was available in store and online, sold out within weeks of being released, according to Haydale.
South Korea-based technology and health & beauty company iCraft helped develop the material and Haydale said it plans to develop the fabric further with iCraft, including combining it with other wearable devices.
Haydale added that at this stage neither parties are able to anticipate how iCraft's increased use of graphene nano-platelets will impact the volume requirements in the three-year contract that the parties signed back in September 2020.
Shares in Haydale were up 2.6% at 6.31 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
