Harmony Energy Income Trust hails energisation of two BESS projects

17th Oct 2023 14:21

(Alliance News) - Harmony Energy Income Trust PLC on Tuesday said it successfully energised two battery energy storage system projects.

The Great Britain-focused investor in commercial-scale battery energy storage systems said one project is the 198 megawatt per hour/99 megawatt Bumpers project in Buckinghamshire, and the other is the 99MWH/49.5 megawatt Little Raith project in Fife, Scotland.

The Bumpers project becomes Harmony Energy's largest BESS project and the largest in Europe, being 2MWh bigger in capacity than its Pillswood project.

Meanwhile, the company said its final seed portfolio project, Rusholme, has completed construction and been cold commissioned. Harmony Energy expects confirmation of the energisation date in the first quarter of 2024.

Chair Norman Crighton said: "The board is very pleased with progress, as the portfolio is now approximately 70% operational in advance of the winter period."

Harmony Energy Income shares were 0.5% lower at 76.50 pence each on Tuesday afternoon in London.
