(Alliance News) - Hardide PLC on Monday said it has hired Simon Hallam as finance director effective from April 20, to replace Peter Davenport.
The surface coating firm last week said that Davenport would be stepping down from the role to pursue a new career in education. He will remain with the company for a short period after Hallam commences his duties.
Hallam currently works at castings and precision parts maker Doncasters Group as finance director of the UK business in the Industrial Gas Turbine division. He was previously at engineering company IMI PLC as director of the UK business within the Precision Engineering division.
He has over 20 years of experience in senior finance roles within industrial manufacturing and engineering companies, Hardide added.
"The board is very pleased to welcome Simon to Hardide. He brings significant financial experience from relevant larger corporate manufacturing and engineering environments and we are confident he will be a valuable addition to the board as the company enters the next stage of its growth," said Hardide Chair Robert Goddard.
"We are very grateful to Peter for his dedication and we will be sad to see him depart. He has been a key player in the development of the company over the past 15 years and we wish him well with his new career," he added.
Shares in the Bicester-headquartered company were trading 1.6% lower at 63.45 pence each at midday Monday in London.
