HarbourVest Appoints Wilderspin Non-Exec Director, Schmidt To Leave

25th Apr 2018 14:14

LONDON (Alliance News) - HarbourVest Global Private Equity Ltd on Wednesday announced the appointment of Steven Wilderspin as non-executive director.

Wilderspin, who will join on May 14, left the same position at 3i Infrastructure Group PLC at the end of 2017 after ten years with the firm. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCooper.

HarbourVest also said Independent Non-Executive Director Jean-Bernard Schmidt will not be offering himself for re-election. He has been with the firm for 11 years since it listed in 2007.

Chairman Michael Bunbury said: "The board of HarbourVest Global Private Equity is delighted that Steven will be joining the board of HVPE. He brings considerable professional, listed company and industry experience that will be hugely valuable to our board as we continue to navigate an increasingly complex accounting and regulatory environment.

Bunbury added: "On behalf of all shareholders I thank Jean-Bernard Schmidt for his service as a director of HVPE since the company's original listing in Amsterdam in 2007. His forty-year experience of the private equity world has been invaluable as a member of the board guiding the company from its early years through its transition to a FTSE 250 listed entity."

HarbourVest shares were down 0.1% on Wednesday at 1,226.32 pence each.
