Hansard Global New Business Rises In Fourth Quarter, Down For Year

30th Jul 2015 10:29

LONDON (Alliance News) - Long-term savings provider Hansard Global PLC on Thursday said it has seen a strong flow of new business in the fourth quarter of its financial year, though it total new business values were lower.

Hansard said it has seen good new business wins in the fourth quarter to the end of June, with strong performances in North Asia, the Middle East and Africa. New business wins in the fourth quarter hit GBP19.8 million in present value of new business premiums, up from GBP10.9 million a year earlier and GBP11.4 million in the third quarter.

But new business wins for the whole of its 2015 financial year fell to GBP60.6 million from GBP83 million, in line with the decline the company expected after a large distributor in Japan stopping writing business.

"With the strategic enhancements to our product range and distribution networks now complete, we have started to see encouraging signs of recovery after a challenging two years," said Chief Executive David Marr.

Shares in Hansard were up 3% to 110.72 pence on Thursday.
