(Alliance News) - Hammerson PLC said Monday it has appointed Meka Brunel as non-executive director with effect on December 1.
Brunel is currently chief executive officer of Paris-based real estate investment trust Gecina, in post there for two years since 2017.
Prior to this, she was a non-executive director of Grecina from 2014 to 2017, and before that was European president of Canadian real estate firm Ivanhoe Cambridge Inc from 2009 to 2014.
"Meka has exceptional experience in the European real estate sector and we look forward very much to welcoming her to our board. With close to half of our property portfolio outside of the UK, we are pleased to strengthen our European expertise. In addition, as we build momentum with our City Quarters concept, we will benefit from her experience and skills in property outside of retail," said Chair David Tyler.
Shares in the shopping centre operator were up 1.4% at 293.00 pence in London, but its Johannesburg shares were down 12% at ZAR50.00 on Monday.
Hammerson is headquartered in London.
