LONDON (Alliance News) - HaloSource Inc said on Monday its Astrea water bottle will get certification in the US in the second half of 2018 after it passed testing to the American national water treatment standard for lead reduction.
The clean water technology company said the bottle offers "best-in-class" protection from lead contamination and is expected to be the only bottle in the world certified to the NSF53 standard for lead reduction.
Back in March, the company began a USD50,000 fundraising campaign on the Indiegogo platform. It was expected to run for 30 days and crowdfund pre-orders of HaloSource's new daily-use filtering water bottle Astrea in the US.
The number of pre-orders exceeded forecasts, and HaloSource said it donated the rest of the funds to charity.
"While other filtering bottles make lead removal claims, there is presently no other bottle on the market that offers the performance of our Astrea bottle when it comes to lead reduction," said Chief Executive James Thompson.
"We see the Astrea bottle as the next generation of reusable bottle, providing users with confidence in the safety of the water they drink from it," Thompson added.
Shares in HaloSource were untraded at 1.275 pence each on Monday.
