HaloSource, Jarden Consumer Solutions Launch Oster Products In LatAm

23rd Sep 2014 08:12

LONDON (Alliance News) - HaloSource Inc said Tuesday that it has partnered with Jarden Consumer Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jarden Corporation, to launch a line of Oster drinking water pitchers powered by HaloSource's HaloPure water purification technology in Latin America.

The clean water technology company said the initial launch is targeting Chile, Peru and Colombia, marking the first commercial deployment of HaloSource's HaloPure water disinfection technology in Latin America. The Oster brand is distributed through hypermarkets, department stores and warehouse club stores.

HaloSource said the deal with Jarden Consumer Solutions reinforces its strategy of increasing the "penetration of its drinking water purification technology around the globe through strong commercial partners."

The AIM-listed company's HaloPure technology is already utilised in China and India, through strategic partners that include Perfect Water Manufacturing Co. Ltd and Eureka Forbes Limited, respectively, it said.

According to HaloSource, the product produces better tasting water as well as eliminating waterborne viruses and bacteria by 99.9% while preventing bacterial recontamination keeping treated water "fresher for longer."

Tuesday's announcement gives further detail to the announcement on June 26, 2013 of a partnership with H20 International and a major "Fortune 500 Company," said the company.

No financial terms of the agreement or launch were disclosed.

"HaloSource's focus and core business is innovation in the chemistry of water purification. Our dedicated team of scientists, microbiologists, chemists and engineers work to deliver on the company's mission of making water better and to provide clean chemistry which makes water safe for millions of people across the globe," said Chief Executive Martin Coles.

"Our launch in Latin America is further validation of our strategy of being the distinctive chemistry inside the devices of market leading partners around the globe. We provide differentiated and relevant technologies and solutions to our partners that help them to deliver to their customers, best-in-class water disinfection products," added Coles.

Shares in HaloSource were Tuesday morning trading 0.69% lower at 10.80 pence per share.
