H&T Group Hires Two New Non-Executive Directors As One Retires

LONDON (Alliance News) - H&T Group PLC on Wednesday announced the appointment of two non-executive directors as well as the retirement of an existing one.

The pawnbroker has appointed Elaine Draper and Mark Smith as non-executive directors. Draper previously sat on the Bank of England's Strategic Cash Group and was also a "senior leader" at Barclays PLC.

Smith, H&T said, is a special advisor at KPMG LLP, and was previously managing director of customer contact in Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC's UK Retail Banking arm.

Non-Executive Director Malcolm Berryman is to step down after almost ten years, effective from August 14. The two appointed non-execs have begun immediately.

Chairman Peter McNamara said: "The members of the board and I would like to extend our personal thanks to Malcolm for his hard work and significant contribution to the group as board director and chair of both the Remuneration and Risk committees.

"We welcome Elaine and Mark to the board and look forward to their support as we continue our evolution to create a new digital reach to both existing and new customers."

Shares were flat Wednesday at 332.50 pence each.
