Gulf Marine Services Wins Small Class Vessel Contract

28th May 2014 09:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gulf Marine Services PLC Wednesday said one of its small class vessels has been awarded a contract for maintenance work for an unnamed international oil company in the Middle East and North Africa.

The K-Class self-propelled self-elevating support vessel will begin the new 12-month charter in the third quarter of 2014, with the contract towards the top end of the current day rates across Gulf Marine's small class vessels according to the company.

"This new contract, which will directly follow on from completion of the vessel's existing work with another client, is one of a number of current opportunities in the pipeline, reinforcing our view that there continues to be a very strong demand for our assets in brownfield oil and gas recovery, well services and maintenance in the MENA region," Chief Executive Duncan Anderson said in a statement.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gulf Marine shares were quoted up 0.5% at 160.75 pence Wednesday morning.
