Gulf Keystone Set To Appoint Maersk's Ferrier As New Chief Executive

1st Jun 2015 06:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd on Monday said it is in the process of appointing Jón Ferrier as its new chief executive officer.

The oil and gas producer, which operates in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, said that following a brief transition period, Ferrier will take over from John Gerstenlauer, who will retire after the company's annual general meeting.

Ferrier joins from his role as the senior vice-president for business development, strategy and commercial at Danish conglomerate AP Moller?Maersk Group's Maersk Oil subsidiary. He also has worked for US gas company ConocoPhillips in the past.

"Jón Ferrier will bring considerable experience to the head of the Gulf Keystone executive team, and to the board. We are confident that a combination of his international operational expertise and strategic track record, will serve the company well," said Andrew Simon, Gulf Keystone's non-executive chairman.
