Greenko On Track To Meet 2015 Target As New Wind Farm Commissioned

29th Jan 2014 10:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greenko Group PLC said Wednesday that it is on track to meet its 2015 electricity production target of 1,000 megawatts, as the second phase of its Balavenkatpuram wind farm had been commissioned.

The commission of the new wind farm takes its total generating portfolio to 476 megawatts, up 54% since April. Greenko expects to more than double its generating capacity in this financial year to 600 megawatts.

Balavenkatpuram Phase-2 is the fifth wind farm commissioned by Greenko in the year and was completed ahead of schedule at an approximate total cost of EUR43 million.

Greenko said that Balavenkatpuram Phase-3 is already under construction and on track for commissioning ahead of the main generating season, starting in July.

Shares in Greenko were trading up 1.5% at 178.06 pence Wednesday morning.
