LONDON (Alliance News) - Greenko Group PLC Thursday said its 15.0 megawatt Mangalore wind farm in Karnataka has been commissioned, meaning it now has a total generating portfolio of 561 megawatts, up nearly 82% so far in the current financial year.
Magalore, which cost about EUR13 million to build, is the sixth wind farm the Indian company has commissioned in the financial year to the end of March. The farm is selling its power directly to an unnamed commercial customer in Bangalore, via a 10-year indexed power purchase agreement.
Greenko said it hopes to commission a further three wind farms before the monsoons arrive in July, meaning it will have almost 700 megawatts of generation in place for the main generating season of the 2014-15 financial year, more than double the level it had for the main season in the current financial year.
Greenko shares were up 0.5% at 182.00 pence Thursday morning.
