LONDON (Alliance News) - British brewer and restaurant owner Greene King PLC Friday confirmed that it had been among the bidders to buy pub group Orchid Group, but has chosen to withdraw from the sale process as the transaction did not meet its "strict acquisition criteria".
Chief Executive Rooney Anand said: "Our successful retail expansion programme is, and remains, focused on improving shareholder value and delivering sustainable, long-term growth."
Green King shares were quoted down 0.1% at 849.50 pence Friday
