(Alliance News) - Greencore Group PLC on Thursday said it has appointed the former president of Bunge Food & Ingredients Gordon Hardie to its board as a non-executive director, with effect from February 1.
The convenience foods producer also announced Non-Executive Director John Moloney will retire from the board on January 28.
These board changes "mark the commencement of the board refreshment as outlined in the 2019 annual report."
Hardie is currently a non-executive director at glass container maker Owens-Illinois Inc. He previously served as managing director of Australian consumer goods firm Goodman Fielder.
Commenting on the changes, Greencore Chair Gary Kennedy said: "We are delighted Gordon is joining the board. His in-depth experience in the food and consumer goods industries, as well as his executive and non-executive experience in a wide range of functions, geographies and growth stages will be very valuable, as we continue to drive the group forward."
He added: "I would like to thank John sincerely for his outstanding dedication and contribution to the group over the past seven years. John has been an exceptional non-executive director and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
Greencore shares closed 0.3% lower at 268.20 pence per share on Thursday in London.
