25th Feb 2021 10:45

(Alliance News) - Greencoat UK Wind PLC on Thursday reported a 2.3% increase in its dividend payout for 2020 amid improvement in net assets.

The renewables energy asset manager said net asset value per share increased by 0.6% to 120.4 pence per share as at the end of 2020 from 119.7p a year earlier.

The total shareholder return for the year was negative 6.2%, driven largely by economic uncertainty throughout the year, the company noted.

Declared dividends for the year total 7.1p per share, with the fourth and final quarterly dividend of 1.775p per share to be paid on Friday. The company said it targets a dividend of 7.18p per share for 2021. For 2019, the company paid a total dividend of 6.94p per share.

"We are pleased to report another good performance, building on the track record we have established since coming to market in 2013," said Chair Shonaid Jemmett-Page.

"The pipeline of potential acquisitions remains healthy and we look forward to adding further attractive growth opportunities in due course as we continue to play our role in helping to decarbonise the UK economy," added Jemmett-Page.

Greencoat UK Wind shares were trading 0.3% lower in London on Thursday morning at 130.90p each.
