Greencoat UK Wind Buys Majority Stake In Scottish Wind Farm

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greencoat UK Wind PLC on Friday said it has bought 75% of the Tom nan Clach wind farm from Belltown Power for GBP126 million.

The wind farm investor expects the deal to complete in July next year, 30 days after commercial operations start.

Tom nan Clach is in Nairnshire, Scotland and is currently being built. It will comprise of 13 turbines, restricted to 39.1 megawatts of connection capacity. Greencoat said it has a 15-year contract for difference at GBP91.14.

Greencoat Chairman Tim Ingram commented: "We are pleased to have reached agreement to acquire Tom nan Clach, a large, brand new and high load factor wind farm.

"This will be our first contract for difference investment and will sit alongside our 30 return on capital investments as part of a balanced portfolio."
