Greatland Gold Starts Drilling On Ernest Giles Gold Mine In Australia

11th Oct 2016 07:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC on Tuesday said drilling work has started at the Ernest Gils gold project in Western Australia.

Greatland said the current drilling programme includes plans for around 6,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling at the project, with the objective to follow up on previous drilling which identified gold, arsenic and antimony anomalies.

Greatland added it has applied for three contiguous licences in addition to Ernest Giles in order to expand its interest in the region.

"We are very pleased to have commenced drilling at our 100% owned Ernest Giles project. We hope that this ambitious, wide-spaced RC drilling programme will offer us further insight into a portion of a large greenstone belt that remains relatively unexplored and that this campaign will offer up some interesting targets for follow up exploration," said Executive Director Callum Baxter.

Greatland shares were up 10% at 0.16 pence on Tuesday.
