LONDON (Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC on Monday said its field operations team are on site at the Bromus project, in Western Australia, and are preparing four locations for drilling to determine the nature of the bedrock conductors and their nickel content.
The precious metals explorer said its drilling programme comprises of four specifically selected targets for around 1,000 metres of drilling, which will target well defined bedrock conductors to be tested by several diamond drillholes.
This follows an electromagnetic survey which returned data of "extremely high quality, with excellent ground penetration", and confirmed the areas to focus the drilling on.
Greatland Gold said, as part of its programme, downhole geophysics will also be undertaken to determine the size and orientation of buried targets.
"We are very pleased to have commenced field operations at our 100% owned Bromus project which marks the commencement of an increasingly proactive phase for the company," said Executive Director Callum Baxter.
"The nickel sulphide targets identified by last year's geophysical work will be tested by diamond drilling and provision has been made for downhole electromagentic surveys to determine size and orientation of the buried targets," Baxter added.
Shares in Greatland Gold were up 2.2% at 0.281 pence on Monday.
