Greatland Gold Locates New Gold Targets At Ernest Giles Project

9th May 2018 11:42

LONDON (Alliance News) - Precious metals mining company Greatland Gold PLC said Wednesday that mobile metal ion sampling has confirmed existing and new gold targets at Ernest Giles project located in western Australia.

At the Meadows area, a large five kilometres by 1.5 kilometre anomaly sitting 1.0 kilometre to the north of previous drilling were identified, and a new large gold target, covering an area of 4.0 kilometres by 1.0 kilometre was located 5.0 kilometres north west of prior drilling.

In Empress, several clusters of elevated gold responses over a strike of 9.0 kilometres were found, and in Wishbone gold responses were apparent, particularly in the north-west and central eastern parts.

Greatland Gold intends to conduct a reverse circulation drilling programme at Earnest Giles, with 24 holes in Meadows and up to six holes at Wishbone and Empress.

"Results of our recent MMI campaign were better than expected as we identified new targets and confirmed existing known targets across all areas. The next stage is to commence a drilling programme at Ernest Giles, which includes plans for up to thirty drill holes and is scheduled to start before the end of this quarter," said Chief Executive Officer Gervaise Heddle.

Shares in Greatland Gold were up 5.4% at 0.59 pence on Wednesday.
