Greatland Gold Kicks Off First Drilling Campaign At Havieron Licence

18th Apr 2018 12:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC on Wednesday said it begun its first drilling campaign at the Havieron licence in the Paterson region of Western Australia.

The stock was trading 2.3% higher at 0.57 pence per share on Wednesday.

The precious and base metals exploration company said the drilling campaign includes up to four vertical core holes for a total of around 2,400 metres, which determines both the type of mineralisation and evaluates gold, copper, and other element grades.

Greatland said historic drill holes at Havieron were not assayed for the full range of elements, but showed similarities to iron-oxide-copper-gold style deposits.

"We are very pleased to commence the 2018 Australian drilling season with Greatland's maiden drilling campaign at Havieron," said Chief Executive Officer Gervaise Heddle.

"The prospectivity of the Paterson region is widely recognised with several large industry participants engaged in active exploration," Heddle continued. "We believe that this drilling campaign at Havieron may further demonstrate the potential of the eastern edge of the Paterson region to host a new iron-oxide-copper-gold district in Western Australia."
