Greatland Gold Gets Further Positive Results From Warrentina Drilling

22nd Apr 2014 12:03

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC Tuesday said it has achieved further positive results from drilling activities at its Warrentina gold project in Tasmania.

The mineral exploration and development company with operations in Australia said the three drillholes on the Derby North prospect all intersected gold mineralisation above 1.9 grams per tonne of gold with further potential of depth extensions.

The company said results included a 10 metre space at 2.28 grams per tonne of gold from 90 metres in depth at its WTR032 site and a one metre space at 5.48 grams per tonne of gold from 95 metres in its WTR032 drillhole.

Greatland Gold said that drilling to date covers a strike length of 150 metres and has established a 100 metre wide zone of gold mineralisation within which quartz reefs with higher gold grades occur.

In January, Greatland announced initial positive results from the three holes including an eight metre space at 3.11 grams per tonne gold and a 4 metre space at 2.16 grams per tonne gold.

The company said further reviews of drill results will be carried out in the coming weeks and provision for additional drilling will be incorporated into its work programme for the third quarter.

Greatland Gold shares were up 1.2% to 0.440 pence Tuesday.
