Greatland Gold Board Approves Exploration Programme At Ernest Giles

21st Jun 2016 10:08

LONDON (Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC said Tuesday that its board has formally approved a new gold exploration programme at its Ernest Giles project in Western Australia.

The exploration programme will target gold, arsenic and antimony anomalies encountered in drilling and soil sampling in the southern parts of the Ernest Giles project area.

Greatland's board has approved a programme of wide-spaced reverse circulation drilling in the target areas.

"Exploration work conducted by Western Mining Corp in the late 1990s identified a large gold-arsenic soil anomaly in the southern parts of the Ernest Giles project area. Initial drilling by Greatland nearby, conducted in 2010 and 2012, has revealed large alteration systems and gold mineralisation," said Executive Director Callum Baxter in a statement.

"The board of Greatland has approved additional RC drilling that will systematically follow up this previous exploration work. Further details regarding this drilling programme will be announced to market shortly," Baxter added.

Shares in Greatland were up 4.1% at 0.276 pence Tuesday.
