Great Western Mining Signs Contracts To Develop M2-Smith Copper Target

13th Feb 2014 12:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Great Western Mining Corp PLC Thursday said it has signed contracts to move forward its drill programme to establish a JORC resource at the M2-Smith copper target in California.

The mineral exploration company with operations in the US said it has retained the services of Environscientists Inc, a permit acquisition firm which has submitted applications to extend the company's drilling permits on the M2 target. Environscientists will also manage the permitting process for its fourth target.

The company also said it has also signed a contract with O'Keefe Drilling, which will allocate a drill rig and crew to the project. Both rig and crew are on standby awaiting instructions to be deployed.

Finally, Great Western Mining signed a contract with Bureau Veritas Inspectorate to provide assay services for the site.

The company said work to prepare drill pad sites on already existing permits, and to repair or maintain access roads has begun.

"I am pleased to report that, subject to permitting, the drilling programme for our M2-Smith target remains on schedule and on budget. We look forward to updating shareholders as work continues," Chief Executive David Fraser said in a statement.

GWM shares were down 3.5% to 1.40 pence Thursday.
