LONDON (Alliance News) - Good Energy Group PLC Tuesday said its autumn 'Clean Energy Switch' campaign attracted almost 10,000 new domestic customers, nearly 80% of which are dual fuel.
The renewable electricity supplier launched the campaign at the beginning of September through consumer campaigning organisation 38 Degrees and energy switching collective the Big Deal to encourage consumers to join a collective switching initiative and secure a cheaper deal by choosing 'green' electricity.
The Clean Energy Switch campaign, which has since closed, offered Good Energy's dual tariff for an average price of GBP947 per annum, which is 20% cheaper than the average tariff of the big six energy companies, it said.
"We are delighted by the success of the 38 Degrees campaign and to see almost 10,000 consumers switching to a cheaper and greener deal. The team has responded well to this level of demand and following our investments in our own renewable plant, we have the renewable power to support these customers," Chief Executive Juliet Davenport said in a statement.
"This is the first green collective switch and demonstrates that Good Energy's renewable and price competitive proposition appeals to a wide customer base, and further supports our new growth strategy targeting a five-fold growth in customer numbers by 2020," she added.
Shares in Good Energy were untraded on Tuesday morning, last quoted at 230.12 pence.
