LONDON (Alliance News) - Gooch & Housego PLC Monday said Non-Executive Director Mark Webster will take on the role of deputy chief executive later this month as the first stage of a move to replace Chief Executive Gareth Jones, who in turn will replace the company's chairman.
In a statement, the specialist manufacturer of optical components and systems said that Webster will begin as deputy CEO on August 18. Jones, who has held the position for eleven years, will assist him in an orderly handover of duties until Webster takes over from the start of 2015.
Jones is to replace Non-Executive Chairman Julian Blogh, who will retire at the beginning of 2015 as he is approaching the recommended limit of tenure. He has been in his position for eight years. Gooch & Housego said that Jones will remain in the role for no longer than three years.
Gooch & Housego shares were Monday untraded at 622.50 pence.
