Goldstone Resources ramping up mining, production at Ghana project

15th Apr 2021 11:21

(Alliance News) - Goldstone Resources Ltd on Thursday said it is focusing on "ramping up" mining and production for operational reasons.

The resource development company with projects in West Africa said this has necessitated a temporary rescheduling to its initial planned gold pour in order to optimise profitability.

Shares in Goldstone Resources were down 10% at 11.47 pence in London on Thursday.

Back in February, Goldstone received an environmental permit for its Homase South Pit within the AKHM project from the Ghanaian Environmental Protection Agency. It said at the time the permit is key to allowing it to proceed towards project construction and now it has been secured, operations can commence "imminently".

"The company is working with the new mining contractor to complete a revised mine plan and production schedule for the coming months and will be in a position to update the market shortly," said Goldstone on Thursday.
