4th Jun 2015 07:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gold miner Goldstone Resources Ltd Thursday said it has struck a deal to acquire a further interest in the Homase licence in Ghana from joint venture partner Cherry Hill Mining Co Ltd.

Goldstone will increase its interest in the licence to 90% from 65% for a payment of USD25,000.

"In return for USD25,000 the company is adding attributable mineral resources of 101,750 ounces of gold and hurdling two significant contractual objectives to attain a 90% interest in the Homase licence, thereby obtaining ownership of 93% of the Homase/Akrokerri mineral resource," said Goldstone Chief Executive Jurie Wessels.

Shares in Goldstone were up 3.2% to 2.4 pence on Thursday. Stratex International PLC, which holds a 33.45% stake in Goldstone, also noted the announcement. Its shares were up 3.9% to 1.585 pence.
