LONDON (Alliance News) - Goldenport Holdings Inc Tuesday said it has finished the sale of a 1994-built container vessel, MSC Analfi, for USD6 million.
The international shipping company said it sold the vessel to an unaffiliated third party, Gunehr Shipping Limited, and the delivery to Gunehr has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
Goldenport said it expects to realise a book loss of USD3.9 million on the sale after accounting for brokerage commission and book value.
The company said it sold the vessel in order to reduce the average age of its fleet and to improve its operating and cash flow generating efficiency.
Goldenport added that the sale proceeds will be applied towards the repayment of USD4.6 million in debt secured against the vessel and increasing the level of corporate liquidity.
