Golden Saint Resources To Shortly Start Baja Bulk Sampling Programme

10th Sep 2014 10:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - Golden Saint Resources Ltd Wednesday said a bulk sampling plant has started to arrive at its Baja licence area in Sierra Leone, and it hopes to shortly commence the bulk sampling.

The mining company said that, barring heavy rain, the plant will be set up next week.

The Baja licence area is located north-northwest of Blama, in the Eastern and Southern Provinces of the West Arican country. It is considered prospective for both gold and diamonds.

"The issues of logistics on the ground remain challenging given the company can only deploy minimum manpower when moving the plant to minimise the risk of exposure to Ebola," the company said in a statement.

The company said artisanal miners sponsored by its Golden Saint Diamonds SL Ltd business at the Rowaka site in Sierre Leone, is ongoing, with the two wash plants now working, although it said progress is being hampered by technical breakdown and rains.

Shares in Golden Saint Resources were up 3.5% at 2.20 pence before midday Wednesday.
