LONDON (Alliance News) - Golden Saint Resources Ltd on Thursday said it has produced a 9.65 carat diamond from the bulk sampling programme undertaken at its Tongo licence in Sierra Leone.
The company has also found a very clear 0.775 carat stone and has found a total of 135 carats of smaller stones at the site over the past three weeks.
Due to the start of the rainy season in the country, Golden Saint said the Explorer One bulk sampling plant has been moved to higher ground.
"The relocation of the Explorer One means the company will still be able to continue operations on the ground during what is traditionally a quieter period. The Explorer One, which was purchased by GSR in January 2014, is easy to operate and has security devices to prevent theft of the production," said Cyril D'Silva, Golden Saint's executive chairman.
Shares in Golden Saint were up 8.6% to 0.228 pence on Thursday.
