Goals Soccer Centres Trims Guidance Again On Slow Sales Recovery

9th Nov 2015 08:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Goals Soccer Centres PLC trimmed its profit guidance for 2015 again on Monday morning, sending its shares lower, as a recovery in sales performance proved more elusive than had been hoped previously.

The company, which operates five-a-side football centres in the UK and which recently opened a centre in Los Angeles, said that while its week-on-week sales performance has improved in the second half, the recovery has been slower than expected.

Due to this, Goals now expects its pretax profit for the full year to be GBP8.2 million to GBP8.6 million, down from the GBP9.3 million to GBP9.8 million guidance it gave in its first half results in September, which had itself been cut given a more cautious view on the outlook for the year.

Goals also said the new guidance is predicated on the absence of any adverse weather conditions hitting sales in the remainder of the year.

Shares in Goals Soccer Centres were down 12% to 135.00 pence on the news, one of the worst performers in the AIM All-Share.
