LONDON (Alliance News) - Goals Soccer Centres PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed Michael Bolingbroke as a senior independent non-executive director, effective from June 13.
Bolingbroke is currently chief executive of Italian football team Inter Milan SpA, prior to which he was chief operating officer of Manchester United FC.
He was previously a senior vice president at circus and theatrical producer Cirque du Soleil, and at The Jim Henson Co, the creator of puppet ensemble The Muppets.
"Following a wide ranging and exhaustive search for a new senior independent director, I'm delighted that Michael will be joining the board. He is an exceptional appointment as his outstanding career demonstrates and a perfect fit. Goals is a market leading soccer based consumer business and Michael will bring significant experience and value, as we seek the many opportunities ahead of us," Chairman Nick Basing said in a statement.
Last week, Goals appointed Mark Jones as its new chief executive after Co-Founder and Managing Director Keith Rogers moved to the US to head up the group's operations there.
Jones joined the group from gambling company the Rank Group PLC, where he was managing director of Grosvenor Casinos.
Shares in Goals were trading up 1.5% at 104.00 pence on Tuesday morning.
