Go-Ahead Hires Eurostar Chair And Ex-Spire Healthcare CEO As New Chair

27th Jun 2019 09:32

(Alliance News) - Go-Ahead Group PLC on Thursday said Clare Hollingsworth will replace Non-Executive Chair Andrew Allner, who will step down and retire from the board at the end of October.

The FTSE 250-listed firm appointed Hollingsworth as non-executive chair designate from August and said she will succeed Allner as non-executive chair following the conclusion its annual general meeting.

Allner joined Go-Ahead's board as a non-executive director in October 2008 and was appointed as chair in April 2013.

Meanwhile, Hollingsworth has been non-executive chair of Eurostar International Ltd since July 2013, having first joined the board as a non-executive director in 2010. She will leave cross-channel train operator Eurostar at the end of June.

She was previously a non-executive director with Savills PLC and Assura PLC, both property businesses, as well as chief executive of Spire Healthcare Group PLC and its predecessor business, BUPA Hospitals.

Chief Executive David Brown said: "I would like to thank Andrew for his contribution to the group, especially bringing the group's values to life at Board level. I wish him all the best for the future."

Brown added: "I am pleased to welcome Clare to the board and look forward to working with her. She brings a wide range of experience that will be invaluable as we continue to deliver value for all our stakeholders."

Go-Ahead shares were trading 0.3% lower on Thursday morning in London at 1,954.00 pence each.
