LONDON (Alliance News) - Public transport operator Go-Ahead Group PLC on Tuesday said it has won two contract lots for the Baden-Wurttemburg rail network in Germany, giving it its first presence in the German rail market.
Go-Ahead said the contracts will start in June 2019 and will run to 2032. The two deals are expected to generate a combined EUR1.6 billion in revenue over the life of the deals.
"We have 18 years' experience providing passenger rail services in UK rail operating on busy and complex networks and we are pleased to be able to bring our expertise in the German rail market," said David Brown, Go-Ahead's chief executive.
Go-Ahead shares were up 1.6% to 2,619.00 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
