Global Invacom Partners With PT ANTA Mediakom For Indonesian Customer

15th Jun 2016 06:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Satellite communications equipment provider Global Invacom Group Ltd on Wednesday said it has partnered with PT ANTA Mediakom to deploy up to 14,000 very small aperture terminals to an Indonesian customer.

PT ANTA Mediakom is a telecommunications equipment distributor and systems integrator specialising in VSAT and radio. It has commenced shipments of the first 4,500 c-band VSAT terminals which were designed and developed by Global Invacom's US subsidiary Skyware Global.

Global Invacom said PT ANTA Mediakom is expected to have shipped the total 14,000 VSATs by 2017.

VSATs facilitate two-way highs-speed satellite communications and can be installed on buildings where traditional land-based fibre optic cables have not been laid previously or are insufficient to meet demand.

The Indonesian customer, which was unnamed, will use the VSATs to facilitate communications and online financial services.

"This strategic venture enables us to tap Indonesia's growing demand for financial services. Our collaboration with PT ANTA Mediakom underscores our strong track record in the satellite communications market and marks our continued penetration into Southeast Asia, enabling us to consolidate our presence in this promising market," Executive Chairman Tony Taylor said in a statement.
