LONDON (Alliance News) - GlaxoSmithKline PLC is in advanced talks with Japanese drinks giant Suntory over its Ribena and Lucozade brand drinks, the Financial Times reports Thursday afternoon.
The deal may value them at more than GBP1 billion, the FT said, citing three people with knowledge of the discussions, adding a deal could be signed in the next few days. Glaxo decided to dispose of the soft drink brands after a strategic review in April.
A spokesperson for Suntory said "nothing has been decided" according to the FT.
The pharmaceutical company's shares were trading down 1.0% Thursday afternoon at 1,648.80 pence.
