(Alliance News) - Ryanair Holdings PLC said Wednesday its German pilots agreed to a four-year collective labour agreement.
The agreement will cover all directly employed pilots in Germany until March 2023. Ryanair noted the deal saw a majority of 99% vote in favour.
"The agreement, negotiated between Ryanair and the pilot union VC, will deliver a new pay structure along with a fixed 5/4 roster," the Irish budget airline said.
Ryanair added that it has agreed a "social plan" with VC to "govern German base closures or reductions".
The deal with VC was originally agreed in early September but required approval from union members.
Ryanair has seen numerous disagreements with pilots unions across Europe this year, with British pilots striking in September. Other countries that have gone on strike include Ireland, Portugal, and Spain.
Ryanair is hoping to put the rocky few months behind it with this deal in Germany following an agreement with Belgian pilots in May.
In mid-September, the British Airline Pilots' Association, a trade union representing Ryanair's UK-based pilots, called-off a further five strikes scheduled for the rest of the September. Ryanair, in response, welcomed Balpa's decision to call off the strikes and said it had invited Balpa to resume talks with the company.
Following this, Ryanair agreed to a four-year collective labour agreement with its UK-based cabin crew.
The UK crew, by a majority of 80%, voted in favour of the labour agreement, which will implement a new pay structure with increased guaranteed income and returning to a 5/3 roster.
Shares in Ryanair were 2.3% lower in London at midday on Wednesday at EUR10.53 each.
