LONDON (Alliance News) - Georgian Mining Corp on Wednesday said an exploration permit for its Kvemo Bolnisi East gold-copper project in Georgia is "imminent".
Having met with the country's newly appointed Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georga Kobulia, on Friday, the mining company is certain the permit will be approved in the near future.
"As mentioned previously, this delay has arisen from the government reorganisation which started in late June and it has taken some time for the new ministers to divest themselves of their previous responsibilities and to settle into their new roles. I'm very pleased that we finally had the opportunity to present our company and our permit application at this level and I'm confident that we'll have a positive response very soon," said Georgian Mining Chief Executive Mike Struthers.
Shares in Georgian Mining were up 1.7% at 8.80 pence on Wednesday.
