Georgia Capital Gets Government Approval For Wind Farm Projects

13th Jan 2020 08:58

(Alliance News) - Georgia Capital PLC said Monday the government of Georgia has approved the firm's wind power plant projects near Tbilisi and Kaspi.

The approval represents a significant milestone to obtain power purchase agreements from the government, Georgia Capital said, which is expected to be finalised in the "near future".

The Tbilisi and Kaspi wind farms, with a combined 108 megawatt installed capacity, are expected to have an average capacity factor within the 35% to 40% range. Both projects are planned to be constructed in parallel with expected commissioning date in the second half of 2022.

Shares in Georgia Capital were untraded in London on Monday morning but last closed at 888.00 pence each.
