LONDON (Alliance News) - Genus PLC on Thursday said a US court had given its first verdicts in relation to the company's anti-trust litigation against Inguran LLC.
The US district court for the western district of Wisconsin found that Genus had proved Inguran, operating as Sexing Technologies, had willfully maintained monopoly power in the market for sexed bovine semen processing in the US since July 2012.
However, the jury also found that Genus had not proved that it had suffered injury as a result of this maintenance of monopoly power.
Genus said the jury still has to consider Inguran's counter claims related to two patents, and its counter claims that Genus breached confidentiality obligations under a 2012 semen sorting agreement between the two companies. The jury is expected to deliver verdicts on these matters shortly, and will consider a verdict on damages if applicable.
Genus said it will update the market as further verdicts are announced and as post verdict motions are considered.
Shares in Genus were down 1.7% at 1,900.00 pence Thursday.
