GenIP shares rise on launch of AI tool to test tech adoption potential

10th Oct 2025 12:19

(Alliance News) - Shares in GenIP PLC rose on Friday after the technology consultancy launched a new artificial intelligence-powered product designed to assess user readiness and market potential for emerging technologies.

London-based generative AI services provider said its new product, 'Invention Validator', aims to test user perception and adoption readiness for new scientific discoveries.

Shares in GenIP were up 8.0% to 23.75 pence in London on Friday afternoon.

GenIP said the premium service, priced from over USD12,000, builds on its existing 'Invention Evaluator' report by adding tailored market and validation research.

The inaugural project is being conducted with a South African research university, evaluating an agricultural biotechnology innovation.

The company said the new service follows a two-step process: first, evaluating a technology's technical merit, intellectual property strength, and market potential, and then collecting structured feedback from end users to gauge adoption readiness.

In the pilot project, farmers are being surveyed on pricing, adoption barriers, and purchase intent, with the results analysed alongside GenIP's technical evaluation to deliver recommendations on pricing, partnerships, and commercial strategy.

Chief Executive Officer Melissa Cruz said the product launch marked a "milestone" in GenIP's evolution from a consultancy offering stand-alone reports to becoming a "long-term partner in clients' commercialisation decisions."

"Many technologies fail because research teams have to choose between slow, expensive market studies or risky assumptions about user adoption," Cruz said. "Invention Validator bridges that gap by delivering fast, actionable insights by pairing AI-driven analysis with real user feedback."

She added that the new service was a "strategically significant" development, creating a recurring-revenue model for GenIP by extending client relationships beyond initial evaluations.

Although the product remains in its pilot phase, GenIP said three universities in Chile had already expressed interest, with one currently reviewing a proposal. The company plans to expand marketing efforts to corporates and research bodies globally.

GenIP said the methodology could be applied across industries, including medical devices, renewable energy, advanced materials, and digital health.

The offering is designed to be high-margin and scalable, with AI automation reducing consulting costs while preserving analytical depth.
