(Alliance News) - British diamond mining business Gem Diamonds Ltd on Monday said it has appointed Mazvi Maharasoa as non-executive director, effective July 1.
Maharasoa, who has had 20 years of management experience, 10 of which in the mining industry, was chief executive officer of Letseng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd from 2009 to 2017. She is currently non-executive director of financial services provider Stanlib Lesotho.
Chairman of Gem Diamonds, Harry Kenyon-Slaney, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mazvi Maharasoa to the board and are confident that her skills and experience in the fields of mining and resources and corporate governance will add great value to the board."
Shares in the company were up 0.3% at 77.19 pence each on Monday morning.
