LONDON (Alliance News) - Online musical instruments and equipment retailer Gear4music (Holdings) PLC on Wednesday said its sales in the UK and Europe both surged over the Christmas period.
The company said its total sales for the two months to the end of December rose 37% year-on-year to GBP10.1 million, with sales in the UK up 32% to GBP7.5 million and European sales rising 54% to GBP2.6 million.
The group said its website order conversion rate improved during the Christmas period, helped by its policy of delivering goods seven days per week, while its mobile revenue rose 63% year-on-year.
Sales of microphones and PA systems were particularly strong over the festive season, Gear4music said, up 83% year-on-year due to a resurgence in live music performances in the UK's pubs and other venues.
"Gear4music delivered a strong performance during the festive period with more visitors to our websites becoming customers, and increased sales through mobile devices," said Chief Executive Andrew Wass.
