(Alliance News) - Games Workshop Group PLC, which makes Warhammer miniatures, on Tuesday reported its best ever set of annual results, with prospects remaining "good" after an "amazing" year just completed.
For the 52 weeks to June 2, Games Workshop's pretax profit increased 9.4% to GBP81.3 million, as revenue climbed 16% to GBP256.6 million.
Games Workshop is returning 155 pence per share to shareholders for the year, from 126p the year before.
"An amazing set of results - the best year in Games Workshop's history, so far," said Chief Executive Kevin Rountree.
"You can once again see from these results that our business and the Warhammer hobby are in good shape. The board and I continue to believe the prospects for the business are good."
By segment, trade sales rose 29% to GBP121.5 million, with retail sales up 7.1% to GBP87.8 million, and online sales up 5.3% to GBP47.3 million.
"Breaking records for three years in a row sets the bar higher and higher and so, to be realistic, I will continue to make no promises that we will continue to grow," said Rountree.
"That said, I do not see anything significant that will get in the way. We will continue to deliver our operational plan, facing any challenges head on."
Shares were 3.3% higher on Tuesday morning at a price of 4,850.00 pence each.
