Gama Aviation Wins Testing Contract From UK Home Office

1st Jun 2020 13:42

(Alliance News) - Gama Aviation PLC said Monday it has been awarded a contract by the UK Home Office to complete the testing of transmitting portable electronic devices on several emergency services aircraft, in line with its delivery of the new Emergency Services Network.

The ESN is a form of critical communications for emergency services and other user organisations, an element of which is the development of a 4G LTE Air to Ground network and Aircraft Communication System.

This particular contract - which will run from April 2020 to the same month in 2021 - will facilitate the carrying out of early electro-magnetic compatibility testing on aircraft in preparation for the installation of the communication system.

The testing is for gaining approval from the European Union Safety Agency.

"We are delighted to win another contract with the UK Government. I believe this demonstrates our continued ability to deliver appropriate solutions across a wide variety of current and future mission for the UK's emergency services," Scott McVicar managing director for Europe Ground.

Shares in Gama Aviation were down 6.0% at 43.25 pence on Monday in London.
