9th Sep 2014 06:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC Tuesday said its Miller Construction unit, which it only bought in July, has been appointed by Network Rail to deliver building enhancements and property improvements across three framework contracts, which are valued at up to GBP250 million over the next five years.

In a statement, Galliford Try said Miller Construction unit will deliver new stations, station enhancements, platform extensions, depots, office buildings and property refurbishments projects on the Central Region East Midlands route and the London Northwest-North route. It will also deliver property improvements on the London Northeast route between London Kings Cross and Berwick-upon-Tweed.

"These major framework wins highlight one of the compelling reasons that we acquired Miller Construction. This appointment represents a key opportunity for us to grow our business in this sector," Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said in a statement.

Galliford bought Miller Construction in July from Miller Group Holdings (UK) Ltd for GBP16.57 million. It said at time it expected its new unit to boost its earnings in the year to June 30, 2015.
