LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC Tuesday said its recently-acquired Miller Construction business has reached financial close on two school campus building contracts in Scotland.
Miller, working on behalf of public/private development body Hub North Scotland Limited, will work on a GBP35.4 million project to construct the new Inverness Royal Academy and on a GBP15.4 million scheme to build Noss Primary School in Wick.
"We are delighted to have reached agreement with Hub North Scotland Limited and The Highland Council on these significant education contracts and are now able to get the projects underway," said Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald.
"The Miller Construction business is an important addition to the group and these awards reflect its reputation and strong market presence in the education sector in Scotland," Fitzgerald added.
Galliford Try completed the acquisition of Miller Construction from Miller Group Holdings Ltd for GBP16.6 million earlier this month. The addition of Miller doubled Galliford Try's overall order book from GBP1.4 billion to GBP2.8 billion.
Galliford Try shares were down 2.2% at 1,218.00 pence at the open Tuesday.
